JOURNEY FROM RAW MATERIAL TO GELATIN

Raw Materials

The actual raw material used to manufacture gelatin is native collagen protein, which occurs in large amounts in the skin and bones of animals. The optimum precautions to ensure quality and safety include the careful selection of the raw materials.Only by-products from the slaughtering of healthy animals are used for gelatin production.

Production Process

Gelatin is produced in highly technological industrial installations in a complex procedure involving several stages. Gelatin is obtained by the partial hydrolysis of collagen derived from the skin, connective tissue and bones of animals. Gelatin derived from an acid-treated process is known as Type A and Gelatin derived from an alkali-treated process is known as Type B.
